Hoping that the Britney video was more of an exception than a rule I kept watching.  The next video was Ashlee Simpson's "Outta my head (ay ay ay)."  I really didn't think it could get worse than Britney, but Ms. Ashlee proved me wrong, and with what gusto!

First, the poor girl had so much plastic surgery done I couldn't even recognize her from the last time I saw her (lip-synching on SNL- what a good laugh that was!).
The video was her running around in a straight jacket, spinning in mid-air with clips of a statue of her head (kinda like the Statue of Liberty in the Planet of the Apes) singing.  It was very disturbing visually, and that's coming from a person whose favorite video is NIN's S&M-themed "Closer."   Somehow though Ms. Simpson's video was far more sinister.

Similar to Britney,  the Simpson song really wasn't a song.  The same over-produced drum loops with Ashlee just talking/yelling instead of singing.

It was ironic that both videos were played back to back.   Britney's "piece of me" is similary titled to Ashlee's "pieces of me" from way back when.  And it was funny that Ashlee was in a straight jacket considering Ms. Spear's current condition.

I don't mean to make fun of the mentally ill, but Britney is definitely not crazy.  She is a self-indulgent, attention-seeking brat.  And her little sister is turning out the same way.  I heard on the radio that Britney's mom was writing a parenting book.  LOL-  I'm sure everyone wants to know her secret for bringing up two promiscuous, irresponsible brats!

Another age reminder, I turned 50 recently.......whoa!!  Anyway, my husband threw me a bday party, haven't had one since I was a kid, and it was just a great day.  He gave me a certificate to go see Bruce Springsteen ANYWHERE and ANYTIME!!!  Really!!  I was so thrilled as I have yet to see him live......and I received a pair of purple/blue tie dyed thermal underwear with a butt flap from hubby!!    Everyone had a good laugh on that one.  So awesome......the hippy in me still exists.......as my son-in-law says "You are a refined hippy now!!".  And my BF gave me a copy of LIFE that was published the week I was born and a box that the top read "Do NOT open unless you were a child of the 60's", inside was tons of candy from my childhood.  Such good memories and really fun stuff...........she smiles remembering  ..... 

We also moved across the valley to a brand new home last summer, a first for both of us.  Our old place is still on the market and we are beginning to think it may never sell thanks to the wonderful adventures of our banking/housing issues these past few years in the US.  Foreclosures seem to be the only homes selling in most markets.   Anyone want to move to Paradise, CA ?  LOL!! If it was only that easy huh???

Anyway, I have not had a chance to see Shawn for quite some time as he has not ventured to CA but have decided if he doesn't soon I will have to get on a plane to solve my withdrawl issues - LOL!!  Seems that the new little one has kept him closer to home......children have a way of capturing our hearts like no other.  Shawn's music can do that for me too, nothing like seeing Shawn live, always helps my soul..........as she pauses remembering  ............and now back to earth and off to do my chores for the day - helping my daughter get ready for my grandson's 2nd birthday party tomorrow.  I hope you are all in a good place in your life, and if your not, know that others do care.........everything's goin' be alright.........lullaby........I look forward to catching up......THANKS CLAY!!

her funeral was well attended... hundreds of people. they had a release of monarch butterflies.

tania mckenzie was the most amazing person you could ever wish to know... she loved people for themselves. tania was true and honest. simply a beautiful person.

so this is my tribute to tania, on the eve of her 23rd birthday. rest in peace, tanz. you are gone from this earth, but you are alive and well in the memories of those that will always love you. and a monarch butterfly shows you are still with us, watching and protecting.

It's been ages again, I know.  I got Clay's "Come Back" email and figured I'd stop in.  I've been very excited for the new album and am watching Shawn's MySpace daily for updates.  So far I think it sounds much more similar to Soul's Core, which I think most people will be happy with.  Hopefully we'll get some good radio play this time and get this board crazy active again!

I've been through so much over the past while.  I was having a horrible battle with endometriosis, but after 2+ years of suffering, I have finally found temporary relief...

I'm PREGNANT!!

Working on making him/her a Shawn fan already!  I play Shawn on my iPod with the buds taped to my tummy more than any other playlist so far.

We have another ultrasound on the 21st, then we'll know the sex of the baby.  I am 18 weeks as of today and so far things have been wonderful.  First off I haven't had any pain since October, so that it a complete blessing.  I didn't have ANY morning sickness and so far things have been pretty easy.

I'm so glad they made this DVD, now I have a memoir of my first Shawn Mullins concert - and it was an awesome one at that!

I'm fairly tall and was standing right at the foot of the stage, so you'll probably see me there buried under my red sox baseball cap, in total awe the whole time.. lol
